King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade

Descendants of the beloved king honor his life every June by presenting a lavish parade. Festive floats and riders on horseback represent the royal family and members of the court. All proceed down the street while wearing colorful costumes. Riders and horse alike wear garlands of beautiful flowers. The procession continues to the commemorative statue of the ruler and onto the park that bears his name.

Fun and Festivities Under the Tropical Sun in Honolulu, HI

The state capital of Honolulu serves as the gateway to Hawaii's tourist industry. Diamond Head crater, the 'Iolani Palace, the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial and Waikiki Beach are but some of the many island features that attract millions to the tropical destination. See everything from spectacular landscape and views and historic locations to a thriving arts and culture scene.

Things to do

Each March, city residents gather to share their rich culture with others during the three-day Honolulu Festival. The no-cost event features educational opportunities, art demonstrations, live music and dance performances and the chance to sample traditional foods. The festival culminates in a parade and fireworks displays.

Each April, the community comes together for the fun offered at the annual Iolani Fair. The two-day event features a carnival complete with rides, child and adult games, handmade crafts, auctions and live entertainment. Guests also have the pleasure of sampling traditional and gourmet foods.

Kaka'ako Makai Gateway Park serves as the location for the annual April Honolulu Beer Week. The event brings beer drinkers and brewers together to showcase 100 craft beers made in the state and on the mainland. Live entertainment is provided along with food from dozens of local restaurants.

In the middle of September, the city celebrates local culture and history with a 12-block party during the annual Aloha Festival. The multi-day event features live entertainment, hula instruction, food and craft vendors along with equestrian and floral parades.
