Western Idaho Fair

At the end of each summer, people come to Boise for the Western Idaho Fair. This is Idaho's official state fair that runs for 10 days. Visitors enjoy a variety of entertainment from livestock displays to craft booth along with a midway and carnival rides. Of course, there is plenty of fair food and drinks available.

Have Fun Celebrating Diversity and Culture in Boise, Idaho!

The city of Boise, the capital of Idaho, is all about the arts and unending stream of outdoor adventures. Situated on a flat plain along the Boise River surrounded by beautiful mountains, Boise is a vibrant city that never forgets its diverse cultural roots. It is always celebrating those differences through various special events that bring the community and visitors from all over together.

Things To Do

The Boise Music Festival is a one-day event in June that is chock full of performances by major artists. From morning until night, the Expo Idaho venue rocks with great music. There is also a carnival component for families attending the event.

Boise Music Week is a unique event that began in 1919. Its founder, Eugene A. Farmer, had a vision for a free event featuring different types of musical performances by local residents. Still running strong, the week is made up of many events including School Night, highlighting Boise school students; Church Night with choirs, organists and hand bell musicians; and a musical theater production.

The World Village Festival is held each June at Capitol Park in downtown Boise. For three days, the different cultures that make up the city's population are on display through dance, music and literary performances. Foods representative of each culture are also on hand.

The International Food and Culture Festival is held in August and highlights the diversity of Boise and its people. Foods from all over the world are on hand along with a craft beer garden. As the name indicates, this family event also involves cultural performances such as music and dance.
