A salute to all that is Louisiana, this festival, also known as JazzFest, began in 1970 with an impromptu performance by Mahalia Jackson. It has been going strong ever since. While Jazz music takes center stage, the festival has evolved to include other genres as well. Cajun style cooking is showcased and cultural crafts are also on display.
