Welcome To Roseburg, OR

The picturesque community grew on either side of the South Umpqua River and is surrounded by hilly forests in the southwestern region of the state. As the town expanded, the area developed a prosperous timber industry, which earned the location the nickname "Timber Capital of the Nation" by the 1970s.

In addition to outdoor recreation, popular activities include visiting the Umpqua River Lighthouse, the Museum of History and Natural History and the Umpqua Valley Arts Center & Galleries.

Things To Do

On Tuesday evenings, from the end of June until the middle of August, all are welcome to relax in and enjoy the concerts in the park during the Music on the Half Shell events. Music genres vary each week and include the blues and jazz, acoustic guitar, brass bands, symphony orchestras and a marching band.

The Douglas County Fairgrounds is the place to be on July 4 for the annual Independence Day festivities. Activities include a children's play area, beer and wine tasting, food trucks and live concerts. The day ends with an amazing fireworks display set to the music broadcasted by a local radio station.

From July 5 through July 9, all are welcome to step back in time and attend the annual Graffiti Weekend event. The event begins with vehicles manufactured on or before 1975 cruising down the streets. Guests enjoy live music, food and beverages. Festivities also include a swap meet, fun runs, an ice cream social, a sock hop and a pancake breakfast. Throughout the weekend, dozens of vehicles go on display.

For a week during the third week in July, the community hosts the annual Roseburg Beer Week. The event includes brewery and pub tours, food and beer pairing demonstrations, live entertainment, homebrew competitions and educational talks about the culture and history of beer.

For four days beginning August 9, the Douglas County Fair comes to town. The festivities include a carnival, traveling shows, fair food and merchandise vendors, animal exhibits and competitions. Guests also have the chance to attend nightly entertainment provided by celebrity performers.
