So Much to See and Do in Historic Easton, PA

As Easton lies along the confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers, Native Americans once referred to the area as "The Place at the Forks." Situated on the east-central coast of the state, the community landscape also features hills to the north, south and west. Popular attractions include the four-story Crayola factory, which encourages guests of all ages to explore their creative side. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride down the historic canal in Hugh Moore Park. Art enthusiasts venture to the 2.4-mile Karl Stirner Arts Trail on foot or by bike and view the contemporary pieces on display.

Things To Do

In addition to celebrating the country's independence, July celebrations include Easton Heritage Day in honor of one of the first public readings of the Declaration of Independence. Along with a historic reenactment, the festivities include activities for the entire family, which conclude with a nighttime fireworks display.

For an entire weekend during the middle of September, Easton presents the Riverside Festival of the Arts. The free event features arts and crafts workshops for guests of all ages. There are also art and cooking competitions, live music, dance and theater performances and food.

The motto is "eat, drink and stink" at the annual Easton Garlic Festival. Area restaurants prepare a wide selection of foods using the aromatic vegetable as an ingredient. Guests enjoy live entertainment while sampling the culinary creations. The event also features a cooking competition.

While taking in the gorgeous display of fall colors, all attend the annual PA BaconFest in November. Tens of thousands flock to the event, which hosts chef competitions, cooking demonstrations, hog calling, a pig roast and live music. Amateur and professional cooks prepare everything from entrees to desserts using the popular smoked meat.
