  • Passage: Hebrews 9:1-15
We can all appreciate the benefits that come from a good washing and being clean. Whether it's our clothes, our cars, our dishes or our bodies, we often go to great lengths to cleanse away that which continually stains or soils. And yet the dirt and grime always seems to come back. Such is the case with the defiling nature of sin in our lives. No matter how much we try, we cannot rid ourselves of the stain of sin which keeps us from entering into and enjoying the fellowship with God for which we were created. But what we cannot do, God himself does for us in the appearing of his Son, our Savior Jesus Christ., who came as our high priest, to wash and purify us once and for all that we might draw near to God with a cleansed conscience, and live in full fellowship and service to him and with him in the body of Christ. Join us this advent Sunday as we look at Hebrews 9:1-15 and consider how Christ appeared to cleanse us.
