Welcome To Sedona, AZ

The community lies in the heart of the state in the upper Sonoran Desert region. The dramatic landscape varies from forested canyons and flowing creeks to the monumental sandstone rock formations, which rise high into the sky.

Hundreds of miles of trails attract visitors who enjoy hiking and cycling through the natural beauty of the terrain. The Blazin' M Ranch Western Dinner Theater and the Out of Africa Wildlife Park are some of the many attractions found here.

Things To Do

Sedona puts on a gala event for Independence Day during the annual 4th of July Wet Fest celebration. The community pool offers a free day of swimming and play on the water slide while all enjoy the live entertainment. Refreshments are also available along with water games and toys. In the evening, residents join together to watch the spectacular fireworks display.

At the end of July, birdwatchers enjoy attending the Sedona Hummingbird Festival. Activities include guided breakfast tours to locally known hummingbird habitats. Field experts provide live demonstrations of bird banding, offer talks about rehabilitation programs and give slide presentations. There is also a hummingbird marketplace in the Sedona Performing Arts Center.

At the end of August, cyclists and beer lovers make a point of participating in the annual Sedona Bike and Brew Festival. The event features a bike race along with group rides around a specially designated course in the scenic surroundings. Local brewers and food vendors are on hand to provide refreshments.

During the first week in September, Sedona celebrates local Hispanic heritage during the annual Fiesta de Tlaquepaque. Mariachi bands provide live music, and all enjoy the costumed Flamenco dancers. The delicious Mexican foods appeal to all in attendance. The unique neighborhood also features a large selection of boutique shops where artists and craftsmen display their works.

All are welcome to celebrate the German culture and heritage during the yearly Oktoberfest and Craft Beer Festival in late October. The event takes place at Posse Grounds Park and features beer sampling, German bands, comedic performances, authentic foods and family fun.
