See the Natural Beauty and Experience the Culture of Santa Cruz, CA

Established as a Spanish settlement, Santa Cruz lies along the northern shores of Monterey Bay. The natural beauty of the area includes scenic beaches, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and state parks filled with redwood forests. The downtown area features stores and eateries along with providing the stage for various artists, musicians and other street performers. The city also harbors a number of historical landmarks.

Things to do

For three days and two nights in May, campers enter the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds for the annual Regional Burning Man Event. Creative minds converge and display artworks, perform dances and provide music. Some also bring original modified vehicles and themed camps to the festivities. Campers must supply their own food and drinks.

The end of June brings hundreds of the classic vehicles to the annual Woodies on the Wharf festival. In addition to admiring the Woodies, there are vintage surfboards on display. Guests enjoy live entertainment, refreshments, and raffle prize drawings.

The culture of the islands ventures to Santa Cruz during the annual Aloha Outrigger Races & Polynesian Festival. Guests enjoy everything from traditional leis and hula dancing to authentic Polynesian food. All are invited to participate in the outrigger races.

The third week in September brings area residents together in celebration of the Santa Cruz County Fair. Animal exhibits and competitions, carnival rides, games and foods are all part of the fun.
