  • This group is open for puppies 8 weeks of age to 15 weeks of age as a safe and clean environment for early puppy development. You set price for admittance, though most give approx. $15-$20 per dog per meetup.

PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE PRIOR TO ATTENDING YOUR FIRST MEETUP. BY RSVP-ING, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS.

    ATTENDANCE POLICY

Don't no show or cancel late. You'll be banned from the group. This is a popular Meetup, and our attendance fills up quickly. If you are unable to attend you MUST change your RSVP 4 hours prior to the Meetup. This allows the wait listed members the opportunity to attend in your place. If you "no show" or cancel under 4 hours, you will be removed from the group immediately. We just don't have enough space to allow for this. Waitlisters, you need to change your RSVPs as well if you can no longer make it so next on the list can attend.

We open doors at 11:10 and stop check in at 11:20. We're unable to accommodate latecomers after we turn our attention to moderating the group.

We open up for RSVP 2 weeks in advance of each date. This allows everyone a fair chance to get in. Planning ahead will ensure a higher likelihood of admittance.

    15 weeks is age cap.

    WHAT TO BRING:
Vaccination records to first Meetup (Required. We do not make exceptions) - Should be on vet letterhead or the stickers from the vial if the breeder administered. Hand-written records not permitted.

High value treats - think boiled chicken, meat-based treats (Real-Meat Treats, Salmon Treats, cheese etc.

Leash and flat collar or harness. No retractable leashes, e-collars or metal collars.

    Poop Bags

    RULES AND GUIDELINES:

Puppies must be in their forever home 10 days and free from illness to participate in our Socialization group.

Children in attendance under 10 must be accompanied by their own adult. I.e. One parent for the dog, another for the child. There are times where we will need to limit child interaction if dogs are feeling unsure of their presence. We appreciate your understanding should this occur.

Please limit to 1 guest so that we don't get overcrowded in the play areas.

Walk-Ins not permitted. RSVP is required.

Puppies should be well-exercised prior to the meetup. Typically a 20 minute walk prior is good.

NEVER bring a puppy that is showing any signs of illness to the group. This includes things as minor as a snuffly nose, diarrhea or vomit.

All dogs will remain on leash until in the training room. Please wait until they are off leash at trainer's instruction to have them greet to ensure everyone's comfort.

Always pick up after your pet. Failing to pick up after your dog will result in your immediate removal from the group. Please report to RMDT if you witness this.

Spread of disease in undervaccinated puppies is a real and serious risk. For the safety of your puppy and for other participating puppies, follow the above guidelines. For more information:(http://avsabonline.org/uploads/position_statements/puppy_socialization.pdf).

If you have multiple puppies in your household, please bring only one at a time for the best outcome with socialization. This allows gain in confidence independent of their housemate.

If your puppy is struggling with fear or reactivity around other dogs or people, please bring it to the instructor's attention upon arrival so we can set up a "safe zone" for your puppy to start.

"Socializing" older dogs: We can help but it's a different process, typically in private sessions. This article breaks it down: https://www.tarynblyth.co.za/can-you-help-me-socialise-my-dog

Other Socialization Opportunities at RMDT: Check out our Puppy Day School Program - Social Puppy. This great option for those who want thorough professional socialization or for those pups who are a bit more fearful and need some extra support. This is open to puppies 16w at start. https://rockymountaindogtraining.com/pages/puppy-day-school
