  • Have you taken Welding Machine Basics and now want some instruction on how to weld (No prerequisite required)? Or have you been just wondering what all the fuss is about? Join us in an introductory MIG class.

Students will learn the basics of cutting, welding, its application, and safety. Class will cover angle grinding basic info on types of welding and welding machines. We will be practicing on mild steel to gain some competence in MIG welding. We will discuss MIG applications and welding different types of metal.

MIG (GMAW - Gas Metal Arc Welding) is a welding process that has a shorter learning curve than other welding processes. MIG welding is a versatile process because it is, "point and shoot" compared the more complex TIG or Stick welding. MIG is used often in manufacturing, small shops, and a favorite with the amateur welder because of ease of use.

Student must wear natural fiber clothes (100% cotton, leather, hemp, bamboo, linen, etc) and shoes. Closed toed shoes. Covered arms and legs (long sleeves and long pants).
If you have your own safety equipment you can bring it. Bring reading glasses if needed (must see up close).

NOTE: This class may be rescheduled due to weather. We weld outside and electricity and water don't mix. Strong wind or severe cold/heat may also require rescheduling. Please check back prior to class. Message Bria if you have any questions.
