Welcome To Natick, MA

Missionary John Eliot was the first to establish a settlement here in the east-central region of the state in 1652. The name of the community comes from the Massachusett Native American language and means "place of hills." Local areas of interest include the beauty and recreational opportunities in Cochituate State Park and South Natick Dam Park.

There is also a miniature golf course and several professional courses in the community.

Things To Do

All have the chance to relax during summer evenings and enjoy the music during the Summer Concert Series. The events take place on the Natick Common on Monday nights. Each week brings a different genre of music. On Wednesday summer nights, the Common hosts the annual Family Performing Arts Series concerts.

On Thursday evenings during the summer, residents are encouraged to pack a picnic and journey to the Morse Institute Library for the Family Picnic Summer Theater. Each week, a different family-friendly movie is presented on an outdoor screen. The location also offers water and sweet treats.

In mid-July, arts and crafts enthusiasts enjoy attending the annual Art Walk found at the Natick Center. The event is considered one of the largest arts festivals in the area. Artists display a variety of handmade items ranging from ceramics and pottery to quilts and woodworking. Various local bands provide outdoor entertainment, which inspires the dancing to begin.

Each September, residents of all ages turn out for the annual Natick Days Community Festival at Natick Common. Festivities include a bungee challenge, Big Daddy racing, a big trucks exhibit, miniature golf, a moonwalk, an obstacles course, pony rides and a raffle. There is also live entertainment and fair food.

In time for Halloween, costumed little ones and their parents are invited to attend the October Spooktacular. Children participate in parades, which meander along downtown streets in hopes of getting treats. One parade is for youngsters aged 3 to 6, and the second parade is designed for older children.
