Check Out the Fun and Festivities in Flint, MI

The picturesque community lies along the Flint River in the southeastern region of the southern peninsula. Local fur trader Jacob Smith established the first settlement here in 1819. The birthplace of General Motors features stunning waterfront views, lush forests and historic locations. Tour the Alfred P. Sloan Museum, the Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad or the Whaley Historic House Museum.

Things To Do

Vehicle City Fest takes place during the first weekend in June and spans three days. Four different venues host more than 50 bands and a lineup of artists and comedians.

Later in June, residents enjoy the annual Flint Feastival. The event features live music, food vendors, beer and various fun-filled activities.

The Flint Institute of Art lawn hosts the annual Flint Art Fair for a weekend. All are invited to view the works created by artists who use a variety of mediums. Food vendors are also on hand.

The Flint Cultural Center Campus presents the annual Sloan Museum Auto Fair at the end of June. More than 700 vehicles go on display. The festivities also include exhibits, craft and food vendors, live music and children's activities.

The July Buckham Alley Fest features two stages for live entertainment, street performers, contests, art exhibits, a beer garden, craft vendors, food trucks and children's activities.

Fans of water sports are welcome to escape the August heat by becoming part of the Flint River Flotilla. Participants of all ages are welcome to embark on the journey via inner tubes, rafts, canoes, kayaks or other floating devices.

For three days at the end of August, spectators, walkers and runners of various ages are invited to participate in the annual CRIM Festival of Races, which is designed to encourage better health.
