In 1912, the United States of America admitted its 47th state: New Mexico. The Land of Enchantment, though sparsely populated, is home to snowy mountain ridges, red-rock deserts and dense forests. History is easy to find in New Mexico; Native American ruins decorate the landscape of the northwestern part of the state, and many buildings constructed by the original settlers of the state are still in use. In the state's cities, tourists and residents can find plenty of fun events, ranging from art festivals to musical events.
