  • Kriya Flow

    http://www.rykyoga.com (http://www.rykyoga.com/)

[masked] The word Kriya is from the Sanskrit kri meaning to do. Patanjali stated, Kriya Yoga is self-disciplined, self study, and attunement to life. The Kriya Flow class will guide practitioners to establish their hatha yoga practice linking gentle movement with breath. Class will consist of a dharma talk, (or short lesson/ theme), leading into a gentle breathing exercise, such as alternate nostril breathing, or ujaye breath, followed by a series of kriyas, (standing and seated poses, such as: sun salutations, a warrior series, a balancing posture, and seated poses). For the new student, time will be spent building poses from their foundation and finding the right practice for the body. For seasoned yogis this class is an opportunity to slow down and enjoy the basics of the practice; helping to better align the body in each pose. Class will wind down with a short relaxation, and closing to the dharma talk given at the beginning of class. Each week we will concentration on different postures according to the theme at hand. Themes will cover topics such as: basic yogic philosophy, the yoga sutras, the history of yoga, the roles and importance of various yoga masters in the tradition, and much more. Prices:

    Teacher

    Sarah Brey

Sarah began practicing yoga in 2008 and immediately fell in love with it. After practicing daily for two years, in 2010 she chose to train to become a Vinyasa Yoga Teacher. Inspired by her Vinyasa training to resign from her full time job as a high school English teacher, Sarah began teaching Vinyasa classes regularly while continuing to teach academics on the collegiate level part time. In 2013 Sarah enrolled in a Hatha Teacher Training with her mentor Jody Domerstad and was again inspired to change her life, moving from New Jersey to Las Vegas, where she continued her growth in the RYK Kundalini Teacher Training Program, graduating in July 2017. Sarah is also a certified Level 2 Reiki Practitioner. Today Sarah enjoys teaching all styles of yoga, which including Pranayama, Yin, Vinyasa, and Kundalini.

Sarahs yoga classes are a dynamic flow of energy and spirituality. She incorporates all of her backgrounds to create a class that is both purposeful, and physically enjoyable. Her classes are enlightening and fun. Her passion lies in giving dharma talks that mindfully link to the breath work and poses that she is teaching for each particular class, making each lesson a valuable learning experience, not just an exercise.
