The last weekend of April, 30,000 people participate in snake hunting, square dancing, flea market shopping and bus safaris. There are crafts and food for anyone not too scared to enjoy them. Find it in the downtown square and Armory Building.
The beginning of May brings a quarter-century old celebration that's all about eating! See the 750-pound hamburger being cooked and watch the burger-eating contest. Live music and a carnival top it off. The fried onion burger has been a specialty of El Reno for well over a hundred years.
This celebration of the arrival of many Italians to the area around 1900 happens about the third weekend of May. Live entertainment, shopping and great Italian food await you at the fairgrounds, and admission is free!
Since 1929, artists have been creating original works in the Paseo Arts District, and this celebration honors the tradition with food, live music and crafts along with the art. About 60,000 visitors enjoy it every year on Memorial Day weekend.
