Tulsa, OK Offers Plenty of Fun and Festivities

Known as the "Oil Capital of the World," Tulsa was founded along the Arkansas River in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. "BusinessWeek" declared the metropolis as being among the top 50 best cities in the U.S. In addition to offering big city attractions of ballet, orchestra and theater, Tulsa has Bells Amusement Park and Big Splash Water Park. A visit to the Perryman Wrangler Ranch offers guests the chance to enjoy Wild West fun.

Things to do

Anyone interested in new vehicle models satisfy their curiosity at the annual Tulsa International Auto Show. Dozens of manufacturers from around the world present approximately 600 newly designed and created models. The event also features classic and museum car exhibits and various activities.

Beer drinkers unite in May for the annual Tulsa Craft Beer Week. Various venues throughout the city host beer dinners, pint nights or tap takeovers. The event also features outdoor, live entertainment.

The annual Tulsa State Fair begins after Labor Day and continues for 10 full days. Livestock competitions and shows accompany a rodeo and various exhibits. A large carnival, midway and other special events attract more than one-million guests.

The annual Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa is considered one of the top German food festivals in the world according to "Bon Appetit" magazine and USA Today. The celebration is held in River West Festival Park under more than 40,000 square feet of tents and stages.
