For more than two weeks in February each year, movie lovers can experience the works of notable veterans as well as offerings from novice filmmakers through the screenings of over 130 features and short films. Proud of the cultural diversity imbedded in the event, organizers bring films from all over the globe to several venues within Portland's city limits.

For the past 29 years, the city of Portland has turned the 5th of May into a wonderful three-day celebration. There are amusement rides, crafts displays and wrestling competitions. Mariachi bands, fire dancers and flash mobs entertain the crowds. A poignant moment during the festivities is the Naturalization ceremony that takes place, welcoming the country's newest citizens.

This five-day event brings the best of blues musicians together for crowd pleasing performances with the Willamette River as a backdrop. Blues cruises and after-hour parties round out the events. Monetary proceeds and food donations collected at the event benefit local charitable organizations.
