Welcome To Stowe, VT

The Stunning Mountain Community of Stowe, VT Makes the Perfect Vacation Destination

The beautiful little community lies between the Green Mountains and the Worcester Mountains in the north-central region of the state. Additionally, the Little River flows through the area. Royal Governor Benning Wentworth obtained an official charter for Stowe in 1763. The vast lush, green valleys, pine trees and spectacular mountains make the town a wonderful outdoor recreation destination year round. Popular local points of interest include the Stowe Mountain Resort, the Trapp Family Lodge and the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum.

Things To Do

During the third weekend in June, all are invited to attend the annual B3 Fest – Bikes, Brews & Beats event. The three-day celebration offers live concerts, craft beers and the camaraderie of mountain biking enthusiasts. Guests of all ages are welcome to participate in the group rides hosted by local bike shops. Singles and families alike also enjoy various scheduled activities.

Toward the end of June, visitors have the chance to step back to the middle ages during the annual Vermont Renaissance Faire. The event takes place at the Mayo Events Fields and features medieval encampments, traditional vendor shoppes and re-enactors offering live entertainment. Knights compete in jousting and sword fights are common. Beer, cider, mead and wine are available along with delicious finger foods.

Enjoy the fresh mountain air and watch the spectacle of colorful crafts taking flight during the yearly Stoweflake Hot Air Balloon Festival. Sunrise and twilight launches occur during the three-day event. Children enjoy the inflatables, face painting and other activities. Visitors also enjoy the live entertainment and the variety of foods, beers and wines.

Each September, Stowe hosts the annual British Invasion. The event takes place downtown and revolves around the largest British car show in the country along with providing the chance to experience the culture. Nearly 1,000 vehicles are on display for the show. Activities include a traditional British pub, the Notch Run Driving Tour and the Tailgate Picnic Competition."
