Welcome To Kent, WA

Enjoy the View, the Fun and the Festivities in Kent, WA

Kent lies between Seattle and Tacoma in the west-central region of Washington. Settlers first arrived and established homesteads here in the 1860s. A hops industry helped the new community grow and prosper. Agricultural efforts later turned to dairy farming along with steel and metal manufacturing. Today, Kent is proud of its eco-friendly community. The historic downtown area offers dining and shopping options. Lake Meridian is a prime outdoor recreation location. The community also hosts many different events throughout the year.

Things To Do

During the first weekend in June, all are invited to attend the annual International Festival. Festivities include the World Wide Walk and a World Dance Party. Booths offer cultural crafts and three stages provide live cultural demonstrations. The food court presents cuisine from around the world.

During a three-day weekend in the middle of July, the community hosts the annual Cornucopia Days. The family-friendly event features a Grand Parade, a gala street fair and athletic activities. All are invited to participate in a 5K walk/run and the dragon boat races. Live bands provide entertainment throughout the festivities.

Through July and August, various Kent outdoor locations welcome guests for live concerts during the Summer Concert Series. The events take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the afternoon or evening. The music presented varies with each concert, which ensures something of pleasure for all.

Each 4th of July, Kent celebrates the holiday with a number of festivities at Lake Meridian during the Fourth of July Splash. Guests enjoy live entertainment all day long. Activities also include inflatables for the kids, a T-Bird Puck and Shoot competition and various old-fashioned games and contests sure to delight the entire family. Later, all settle in for the nighttime fireworks extravaganza.

Toward the end of August, Northwest Cider hosts the annual Sausage and Cider Fest at Covington Community Park. All are welcome to get their fill of apple cider and homemade sausage while enjoying the live entertainment. There are also friendly games and competitions throughout the day."
