Brat Fest

The World's Largest Brat Fest kicks off summer in Madison every Memorial Day weekend with dozens of live bands on four stages. Staffed by volunteers, all of the proceeds from the sale of hundreds of thousands of sizzling brats, hot dogs, and frankfurters goes to local participating charities.

Welcome to Madison, the capital of Wisconsin and home of the University of Wisconsin.

Madison is known as The City of Four Lakes, and residents have easy access to recreational opportunities on the water. The city also offers a wide variety of annual events to suit any tastes, ranging from sporting events to holiday festivals.

Things to do

The University of Wisconsin offers the hottest ticket in town for sporting events. Football, hockey and basketball are just some of the sports that the fans in Madison take seriously.

The Ironman Wisconsin challenges participants on a grueling course through water and the road by bike and foot. The Madison Marathon takes place in the fall with a course that runs along two lakes.

Cultural events abound during the year in Madison. The Wisconsin Book Festival brings readers to the libraries of Madison to celebrate books through author discussions.

During the holiday season, Olin Park is home to the Holiday Fantasy in Lights, a popular event showcasing gorgeous lighting displays. This event is free and runs from November to January.

At the Olbrich Botanical Garden, families can view model trains traversing colorful holiday flower displays at the Holiday Express event.
